Born Oct. 28, 1928 at Clover, Utah to Fred Amos and Cecille Webb Davis. Early years attended school at Vernon, Utah. Then the family moved to Tooele, where he attended school and graduated from Tooele High in 1947. He married Lu Anne Gaisford Aug. 26, 1950 in Tooele. Later they were solemnized in the Jordan River Temple. He was the father of Robert Terry, Sharon, Lisa, and Richard Davis. Bob started at the age of 10 working in garages and learned everything about auto mechanics. His need to know how everything ran, spurred him on to becoming a Journeyman mechanic in later years. Bob and his dad Fred Davis started the “Davis Garage” in Tooele Jan. 1, 1949. They worked together off and on for many years. In between, Bob worked as a mechanic at GMC. In Salt Lake City, Kennecott Copper in Salt Lake, Truck Stop at Lake Point, Bonneville Motors in Tooele, Kennecott Copper in Ely, Nev., and retired from the Tooele County Board of Education bus garage in Tooele. Bob loved hunting and fishing, and enjoyed the family cabin at Strawberry Reservoir. Pheasant hunting with his family at Delta and Hinckley, Utah was a family tradition for many years. Bob enjoyed his family and enjoyed teaching his children about hunting, fishing, and mechanics. He always had time to give a helping hand to any who needed it. He especially enjoyed his church callings, working with the cub scouts and the ward library. He also belonged to the Tooele Volunteer Fire Department for several years. He would be one of the first to respond to a fire call, no matter what he was doing. He was a very loving and caring husband, father, son, and brother. He is survived by his son Richard (Caryn) Davis, of Taylorsville, daughter Sharon Richards, Tooele, 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, brother Jack (LaWana) Davis, Hinckley, Utah, and sister Dorothy Connor, Tooele. His loving wife, Lu Anne Gaisford Davis, his son Robert Terry Davis, and daughter Lisa Ann Moore, parents and sister Marilee Steiner preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. at Tate Mortuary 110 S. Main Street, Tooele, where friends may call starting at 10 that morning. Interment will follow in the Tooele City Cemetery.

Dear Family:

We are very sorry to hear of Bob's passing. Please know that our hearts are with you. We are serving a mission in the Philippines right now, but will be thinking and praying for all of you as you make this adjustment to the loss of a good man.
