Regarding the cartoon published in the Transcript-Bulletin on June 2, what were you thinking? This is a real insult to businesses in Tooele. In one swoop, you have done more damage to my business than you can imagine. I work hard to convince people to come to my store [The Home Touch] and that Tooele is a great place to shop. And you tell everyone to go to Salt Lake to shop because there is nothing here but fast food restaurants and tire stores. Tooele has a growing diversity of shops and businesses in town, and a lot of that has taken place in the last five years. We spend about 98 percent of our advertising budget with your paper trying to support you, a local business also located on Main Street. Along with a written apology, why don’t you try promoting every business in Tooele by listing each of them and telling people what they sell or the type of service they offer? The press is a sacred trust to the people to publish unbiased, truthful, factual, accurate information. The Transcript-Bulletin is an important driving force for bettering our community. We know Tooele doesn’t offer everything for everyone, and there is a need for other types of businesses to come in to town. Working together, we can make that happen. What better way to get more businesses in Tooele than to shop local and keep our tax dollars here. So are you for helping Tooele or against us? The businesses in this town would like to know.
