Meteor was grand experience

It was on the night of Nov. 18 that my son Mark, his girlfriend Amanda and myself ventured to Ophir, hoping to a watch a grand show of meteor showers — a happening that supposedly occurs twice a year. Amanda expressed to us that the further away from the city lights, the greater the chances are for capturing this spectacular show of meteor showers. We found a remote location and viewed the skies for quite some time. The night was calm and clear, and a moonless sky displayed thousands of stars gazing down at us, but no grand show. We were, of course, very disappointed. So we headed back to Tooele. Upon passing Tooele Army Depot, a body of blue and green light flooded our car lasting approximately 10 seconds or more, when a blazing ball of fire sped directly over us and across the black sky. We were astounded to be witness to such an awesome event. The universe is vast and holds many mysteries, some I believe belong solely to space. But for one millionth of a second, we were suspended in time and became part of a grand experience.
