We are attempting to assemble five full sets of Tooele High School yearbooks from the beginning of THS through 2008. If you have any yearbooks you do not want, drop them off at one of the following locations: THS library, Pioneer Museum, Tooele Library, Tooele Valley Railroad Museum or the Senior Citizens Center. Caregiver conference

All current or potential caregivers of an elderly spouse or loved-one should plan to attend the fifth annual caregiver conference, Nov. 15, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at Tooele Senior Citizens Center, 59 E. Marriage date night

Join the Tooele County healthy marriage coalition Friday, Nov. 14 from 6-8 p.m. at County Health/USU Extension building. Cost is $10/couple. Dinner will be served and each couple will receive a gift. Historical society meeting

The Tooele County historical society meeting will feature Robert (Bob) Droubay. His presentation will be about the history of Erda. Our meeting is on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m., in the Pioneer Museum, 47 E. Vine St., enter at the back. Please bring any photos or stories about Erda. Everyone is invited to attend our meeting.

Tooele history books

Tooele County historical society has two books available to purchase at our Nov. 11 meeting. The History of Tooele County, Vol. 2 for $25, and The Mining, Smelting, and Railroading in Tooele for $15. Turkey auction

County FFA and 4-H youth will be auctioning off nearly 70 turkeys for Thanksgiving on Nov. 18 at the THS commons areas. The auction will begin with a BBQ turkey dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are $10 per family. Kid games begin at 6 p.m. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to bid at the auction.

Boutique

The Rusty Rooster Boutique will be held on Nov. 13-14, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 467 Nottingham Cir., (off Skyline Drive). Holiday gifts and decor, unique accessories and furniture will be featured.

Caregivers classes

Announcing Tooele County School District’s annual fall G-T parent enrichment night on Tuesday, Nov. 11, 2008 at T.C.S.D. Settlement Canyon fundraiser

Settlement Canyon Elementary School is having a family spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Nov. 11, at the school. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. and the choir will perform at 7 p.m. Reflections art entries will also be on display. Everyone is welcome. Adults are $5 and children under 12 are $3.

Adult Education

Get your high school diploma. All classes for a high school diploma, adult basic education, GED preparation, word processing, drivers’ education and English as a second language available. Register now to graduate — just $35 per semester. Located at 76 S. 1000 West, call 833-1994. Adult Education classes are for students 18 and over.

English as second language

ESOL conversational classes are held Monday and Thursday from 7-9 p.m. ESOL students may also come anytime the center is open for individualized study. Registration is $35 per semester.

Food pantry

The First Baptist Church in Tooele is offering a clothing closet and emergency food pantry to meet the needs of our community. Anyone with clothing needs is welcome. The food pantry is available for emergency needs. Hours of operation are Saturdays from 10 a.m. to noon. We are located at 580 S. Main St. For information call 882-2048.

Donations needed

Veteran clothing drive

Department of Workforce Services is hosting a winter clothing drive for homeless veterans. Donations will be distributed to Veterans at the annual Veteran’s stand down in November. Serving those in need

Volunteers are needed to help people in need on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Tooele Valley Rotary and Kiwanis clubs are organizing dinners both days at the Tooele County Senior Center. Fundraiser dinner

Please join us at a fundraiser for Kenidee Benton. This will be a dinner at St. Marguerites Church on Nov. 15, from 3-7 p.m. There will be food, fun, games, auctions and music. Adults $10 and kids 10-and-under $5. Kenidee is the daughter of Tony and Tenille Benton of Tooele.

Sweet Peas food drive

Students at Sweet Peas preschool will be collecting food and supplies for the Tooele Animal Shelter between Nov. 11-20. They are in need of cat food, litter, and blankets. Grantsville FFA concert

Will present the Bar J Wranglers from Jackson Hole, Wyo., on Thursday, Nov. 20 and Saturday, Nov. 22. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased at Hale Oil, Circle K or Liddiard Home Furnishings for $15.

Elementary fall concert

Musical celebration

The combined choirs of Tooele United Methodist Church and Dugway chapel will present a dramatic musical celebration for Christmas on Dec. 7, at 7 p.m. Refreshments following program located at 78 E. Utah Ave., Tooele.

Children chorus

Fiddle and fun night

Sixty-eight Grantsville orchestra students from elementary through high school present an evening of musical entertainment Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at the GHS auditorium at 7:30 p.m., performing selections from Disney movies, pirates, fiddling music and much more. Donations accepted for the GHS students going on tour to Washington D.C. in the spring.

Fall concert

Thurl Bailey’s Christmas

4-H volunteering

Special Olympics

Tooele County Giants are getting ready to start practice for our next event, bowling. Anyone 8-years-old and up with a physical and/or intellectual disability is welcome.
