Caregiver conference

Historical society meeting
The Tooele County historical society meeting will feature Robert (Bob) Droubay. His presentation will be about the history of Erda. Our meeting is on Tuesday, Nov. 11, at 7 p.m., in the Pioneer Museum, 47 E. Vine St., enter at the back. Please bring any photos or stories about Erda. Everyone is invited to attend our meeting.
Tooele history books
Tooele County historical society has two books available to purchase at our Nov. 11 meeting. The History of Tooele County, Vol. 2 for $25, and The Mining, Smelting, and Railroading in Tooele for $15. Turkey auction
County FFA and 4-H youth will be auctioning off nearly 70 turkeys for Thanksgiving on Nov. 18 at the THS commons areas. The auction will begin with a BBQ turkey dinner at 7 p.m. Tickets for the dinner are $10 per family. Kid games begin at 6 p.m. Businesses and individuals are encouraged to bid at the auction.
Boutique
The Rusty Rooster Boutique will be held on Nov. 13-14, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Nov. 15 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at 467 Nottingham Cir., (off Skyline Drive). Holiday gifts and decor, unique accessories and furniture will be featured.
Caregivers classes

Get your high school diploma. All classes for a high school diploma, adult basic education, GED preparation, word processing, drivers’ education and English as a second language available. Food pantry
The First Baptist Church in Tooele is offering a clothing closet and emergency food pantry to meet the needs of our community. Anyone with clothing needs is welcome. Department of Workforce Services is hosting a winter clothing drive for homeless veterans. Donations will be distributed to Veterans at the annual Veteran’s stand down in November. Volunteers are needed to help people in need on Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Tooele Valley Rotary and Kiwanis clubs are organizing dinners both days at the Tooele County Senior Center. Fundraiser dinner

Sixty-eight Grantsville orchestra students from elementary through high school present an evening of musical entertainment Thursday, Nov. 13, 2008, at the GHS auditorium at 7:30 p.m., performing selections from Disney movies, pirates, fiddling music and much more. Donations accepted for the GHS students going on tour to Washington D.C. in the spring.
