Reps stood up to RMP

I have been following the articles in the paper — thank you Tooele Transcript — and I attended the first two meetings regarding Rocky Mountain Power’s plan to expand their power lines and bring more electricity to our county, and left feeling like no matter what was said there was a general feeling of just not really being heard. I felt like RMP was just going through the required motions and just was not affected by our concerns. Jerry Hurst was at those first two meetings and it seems he has been at every one since, fighting to be heard. I am so impressed that our leaders have stuck right with it, and it seems like they might be getting somewhere. They really care and that is very apparent, and I am so proud of them and their representation at these meetings. I feel like they are really a voice for our farmers, cowboys, grandparents, young couples, senior citizens and just the average Tooele County citizen. Regardless of how it turns out, right now I have a lot of faith that we will get an alternate route due to our highly motivated representatives and their fighting for us. And if not, I have a really good feeling about the representatives we have locally standing up for us and what is right. It renews my hope and belief that there are still those hard-working, honest and dependable people, doing what they were elected to do, including representing the little guy to the very best of their ability.
