Often, it doesn’t take much to reach out with a helping hand and brighten someone’s darkest times. Turkey Hunters Care is about reaching out that hand.

Through the Turkey Hunters Care, National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) and volunteers from the Tooele Chapter provided 20 frozen domestic turkeys to less fortunate families in Tooele County on Nov. 20, by partnering with the local Tooele Food Bank, directed by Lori Sandoval.

To date, more than 71,400 turkeys have been donated nationwide to families in need since Turkey Hunters Care began in 2001.

“This is the seventh annual turkey donation that the Tooele County Stutters has participated in and it is just one small benefit we can give back to the local community when they are in a time of need,” said Ty Anderson, president of the Tooele County Strutters.
