Tooele High School’s Rylee Mulitalo throws the shot put last Wednesday at the Region 6 track meet at Woods Cross. Mulitalo finished first in the shot put and second in the discus.

The THS girls team nabbed first place in seven events with several other top finishes to outdistance second place Woods Cross by 32 points. Bountiful finished third and East fourth in girls competition.
Stansbury and Tooele boys’ teams battle to third and fourth place respectively at the region meet. Stansbury scored 83.5 points and Tooele was close behind with 78.5 points.
Stansbury’s Tyson Lambert claimed two first-place finishes in the 1600-meter run and the 3200-meter run.
Tooele’s high octane sprinter Lindsay Terry won the 100 meters and the 200 meters while teammate Jessica Anderson finished first in the 300 hurdles and Airica Stewart finished first in the long jump. Tooele’s 4x100 relay team also placed first. Rylee Multalo won the shot put and Becca Smaellie was first in the javelin.
The teams now prepare for 4A state track championship on Friday and Saturday at BYU.
