I praise the county for taking the first steps to a better recycling program. The Blue Bag program has made our family recycling efforts much easier. Before, we had to run to the local school to dump newspapers, magazines and phone books. Now, we have even more options of recycling materials, and doing it at home. We even used this program as a Cub Scout activity for the family. Regarding November's letter of the month, "Blue Bags should be free," I do not scoff at paying for the bags. If this is the price that needs to be paid, it is little. But I do think attaining the bags should be made easier. I had to wait two weeks because the stores only had a small inventory and were constantly out. Why can't we pick up the bags at the city building or even attach the cost onto our Tooele City utility bill? Also, why should we buy them at the store where a sales tax is attached? As I said, this is just the first step. I know this program will improve the more we use and encourage others to recycle.
