Helping the needy this holiday season could be as easy as attending a local T Minus 5 concert.

Admission for the concert, sponsored by the Tooele City Arts Council, is one can of food, which will be donated to the food bank.

"We wanted to do a community Christmas concert for everyone to enjoy," said Terra Sherwood, secretary of the Arts Council. "Here at the city we have been trying do a lot of fund-raisers throughout the year for Christmas help and this is one of them."

The concert will be held on Dec. 15, at 7 p.m., at Tooele High School in the auditorium. Tickets are available on a first-come-first-serve basis at City Hall.

T Minus 5 is an a cappella band made up of five friends, "known for their great musical performances and for combining contemporary pop, golden oldies, classic rock, a little country, and even some comedy," according to the group's Web site.

Sherwood said the council still has roughly two-thirds of the tickets left, so there's still time.

"We are planning a fun-filled evening, and we hope that no one misses out on this concert." Sherwood said. "This is something fun for the citizens to do while helping the food bank."
