Tooele varsity basketball team will face the No. 1 team in the state tonight when it hosts the Provo Bulldogs. On Friday, Tooele lost 79-50 to Timpview which is also among the top five teams in the state. The Buffs trailed by seven points at intermission, but the T-Birds outscored the home team 43-21 in the second half. Jordan Wihongi led Tooele in scoring with 11 points. "We were a little apprehensive at the first of the game and fell behind but made up a nine-point deficit in the first half to stay close," said coach Ray Brazier. "They (Provo) made some adjustments in the second half and used their height to score inside against us. I'm proud of the way our kids played. We're getting smarter in our approach and the kids welcome the challenge of playing in such a strong region." After Tooele hosts Provo tonight it travels to Springville on Friday.
