The Tooele girls tennis team rolled to a 4-1 victory over Provo High while losing 5-0 to both Timpview and Orem in recent matches. Brooke Lund, Taylor Harris and Kylee Harris all won singles matches against Provo. Tooele's number one player Paige Dimond fought back hard in the second set but lost her match to Provo's top player. Lacey Dimond and Heather Hollien teamed up to win at No.1 doubles while Richelle Johnson and Amanda Bento won the No.2 doubles match. Orem was particularly dominating winning the all first three singles matches by scores of 6-0, 6-0. In exhibition play Amanda Dunn prevailed against Orem as did the doubles team of Ahsley Lund and Shellie Christensen. Kylee Harris was the only player to win against Timpview. Coach Derek Smith said his players are improving their tennis skills immensely by competing with some of the top 4A teams in the state.
Alumni Soccer
The Tooele High girls soccer team will host its annual alumni game on Saturday, Oct.6 at 11 a.m. Any previous players and graduates of Tooele High School please call Chris Wilcox for information at 435-843-7013. Tooele's girls' soccer team is 3-6-1 in Region 7 this year and hosts Timpview on Thursday, a team it battled to a 1-1 tie in a previous game. Wilcox said he has a strong team, but competition is much tougher in the 4A classification. Tooele moved up to 4A this year.
