Robert "Bob" Jay Aufdemorte passed away peacefully in his sleep at home Feb. 7, 2008.

Robert was born Feb. 2, 1938, in Stockton, to Frank and Gladys Aufdemorte. He spent his younger years between Stockton and Eureka. He married Sharlene Reynolds on Aug. 5, 1960. Robert was a miner most of his life. He worked for Mcfarland and Hullinger for many years. He retired April of 2006 from Minerals Equipment Company after 30 years. He enjoyed camping, listening to old western music (especially Bob Wills), and going to Wendover to play Keno (that is all he ever played). He was always joking around with friends and family, and had a wonderful sense of humor he was a true friend to many.

Robert always felt truly blessed to find a wonderful wife, Sharlene. He was an example of a loving father and husband.

Robert is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharlene; children, Lorrene (John) Douglas, Robert Jr. (Rhonda) Jannette Vreeken; eight grandchildren, Nick, Zack, Amanda, Tristen, D.J., Tiffanny, Dexter, Kristen; and one precious great-granddaughter, Hope; a special pet, Ginger; brothers and sisters, Margaret Meli of Tooele, Arlene Hore of Santaquin, and Frank and Rulon of Stockton. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Zelma Ahlberg and Louella Webb; a granddaughter; and special pet, Molly.

Graveside services will be held Feb. 13, 2008, at 11 a.m., at Stockton City Cemetery. The family offers their gratitude and thanks to the caring and professional staff at the Huntsman Cancer Center, and to Community Nursing Services.
