JoAnn Peterson Hanson, beloved wife, daughter, sister and friend, passed away Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, at the Intermountain Medical Center. She was born Feb. 14, 1947, to Joe W. and Enid Parkinson Peterson. JoAnn married Gale Hanson Oct. 15, 1971, in Las Vegas, Nev. The marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on June 15, 1973.
JoAnn loved without condition, accepted without judgment, and cared without hesitation. As a Grantsville City employee, she helped many residents and non-residents through their own grieving process as overseer of the Grantsville City Cemetery.
JoAnn will be deeply missed by her husband and best friend, Gale; her parents of Grantsville; and brothers, Kent (Barbara) of Orangeville, Roger (Maureen) of North Ogden, and Joe Ray (Judy) of Grantsville. She is also survived by nieces and nephews, Brian (Suzanne) and Katie Peterson, Andrew (Rachel), Alex (Liz) and Aaron (ShayLyn) Peterson, Ashley (Chad) Baird, Michelle (Kade) Morrell, Mark (Susanna) and Brett Peterson, who will miss her vibrant spirit and zest for life and fun. She is also survived by 18 great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 19, at 11:30 a.m., at the Grantsville Stake Center, 115 E. Cherry St., Grantsville. Friends may call on Friday, Jan. 18, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Tate Mortuary, 110 S. Main St., Tooele. A viewing will also be held from 9:30 a.m. until time of service.
