1937- 2008

Our dear friend, wife, mother and sister sweetly passed away following a hard-fought battle with heart failure.

LaRae was born in Tooele, to James and Lucille Bevan and spent her youth creating a legacy of mischief, fun and expert tractor-driving skills on their farm and dairy. She married Allen L. Barbieri in 1956 and had four children, Allen-Cary, Tamera, Jeff and Anna. As a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LaRae loved serving in nearly every organization including young womens, which was her favorite. Her kind and accepting personality touched many young girls as did her sense of fun and adventure.

In 1989, she married Tom Barthelow who gave her 19 wonderful years as her best friend and companion. Together they loved being surrounded by family and friends. LaRae filled their home with love and greeted everyone with a big smile and cookies or banana bread.

LaRae will be missed by her husband, children, grandchildren and her devoted sisters, Maurine Bevan Lee and Sharron Bevan Perkins. Her bright spirit, loyal friendship, strong will and love of a good "get together" will be forever be remembered. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Janice Bevan Wall; and brother, James (Jimmy) Richard Bevan.

A viewing will be held Sunday, Feb. 3, from 5 to 7 p.m., and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 p.m. at her ward chapel on 495 E. 5600 South, Murray. Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m., at the same chapel. Interment: Murray City Cemetery. In lieu flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Heart Failure Clinic in memory of LaRae Barthelow through the Deseret Foundation, 8th Avenue, C Street, SLC, UT 84143.
