Dupin-Bryant, who teaches classes in business communications, business education, and computer applications at USU Tooele, was selected for the honor from among 125 faculty at 20 locations throughout the state.
Dupin-Bryant received the award for her outstanding teaching ability, said Kathleen Robinson, executive director of the USU Tooele Regional Campus.
"She is very knowledgeable in her field and relates very well to our students," Robinson said.
Dupin-Bryant came to Tooele 14 years ago right out of graduate school with a master's degree in business information systems from USU. She initially was part of a USU extension program that retrained workers displaced by the downsizing of the Tooele Army Depot. She recalls holding classes in an old army barracks on the depot before moving to USU Tooele's present location on West Vine street.
"The roofs leaked and whenever it rained we had to cover the computers with tarps to protect them," she said. "We have come a long way since then. Our new facility in wonderful but we are getting crowded as we continue to grow."
Dupin-Bryant completed a doctorate degree in education from the University of Wyoming in 2000. Aside from being an instructor, she is a published author with several scholarly articles to her credit. She is also co-author of the textbook "Web-based Distance Education for Adults."
"I love teaching at USU Tooele because the students are bright, determined and ready to learn," said Dupin-Bryant. "We have a lot of fun."
Robinson said, "Dr. Bryant has been a great asset to our campus."
