This year, prom for THS students will be held at the newly reopened Capitol Building in Salt Lake City on Friday, April 25. It will be the first time THS has held prom at the Capitol since its closure in 2004 for remodeling.
"We had to work really hard to get it there," said Kenna Stewart, THS Prom Chair. "It's really nice to keep the tradition going. I think our class will bring something to prom that hasn't been there in a while."
The customary promenade dance performed by the junior class will be performed around 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $5 for spectators and need to be purchased ahead of time at the high school.
Students at Grantsville can plan to attend their prom in the large gymnasium on Saturday, April 26, at 8 p.m., at which time the Promenade dance will begin. After the performance by the GHS juniors, dancing will follow.
"We've got a lot of really good ideas," said Matt Thorton, a member of the GHS Prom committee. "I think this year's prom is going to be really fun."
For those who wish to see the GHS prom and promenade festivities, spectator tickets will be available for purchase at the door and will be $5 each or $20 for a household of five.
